Dr. Isom has been the owner of Plantation Animal Hospital for over 40 years. He obtained his Bachelors of Science Degree and his DVM from Kansas State University. Dr. Isom began his veterinary career as a large animal veterinarian, but soon found his true love was with small animals. In 1964, he formed Plantation Animal Hospital, which grew from a one doctor practice to our current seven doctor hospital. Dr. Isom has earned a reputation in this community for his gentle and quality care of his patients. He served as President of the Broward County Veterinary Medical Association in 1977 & 1978. He is also a member of the Florida Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. His special interests are surgery (any and all) and dermatology.

John H. Howard
Dr. Howard graduated from Walnut Hills High School in Cincinnati, Ohio and went on to Kenyon College where he excelled in swimming. He continued his education at Ohio State and graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 1963. Over the years, Dr. Howard has continued to help the college by volunteering as Head of the Alumni Endowment Drive for chairs at the College of Veterinary Medicine. After college and marriage the Howards next destination was Winter Haven, Florida where Dr. Howard accepted an internship in a mixed practice (both large and small animals). After the internship, he went on to work for Ellis Farms in Walton, Kentucky at an equine/bovine practice. In 1970, the Howards moved to Ft. Lauderdale where he opened a hospital with a classmate of his from Ohio State. Now comes the really great part as Dr. Howard then joined Plantation Animal Hospital in 1976 where he and Dr. Isom made an excellent veterinary team with lots of work, fun and always a sense of humor. Then after 28 years together, Dr. Howard decided to retire(that didn't last long, he missed us) so Dr. Howard has now returned home and is now joining us on a part time basis(for now). His former colleagues and co-workers are thrilled to have him back as well as former clients. Dr. Howard holds the distinction of being able to practice quality medicine and tending to his first priority-his family but holds a special interest in internal medicine, ears and skin problems.
Dr. Lisa Feinstein, D.V.M.

When she returned to South Florida, she met her husband and got married. She practiced at a clinic in Coral Springs for 8 years before it closed. A recent addition to Plantation Animal Hospital, Dr. Schwartz enjoys surgery, internal and preventative medicine.
Dr. Z (Zielezienski), D.V.M
Dr. Z was born a long, long time ago in Virginia. She traveled extensively in Europe for three years(of course, she doesn't remember much as she was only 6 years old). She graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine (a vet school with a name almost as long as hers)in 1987 (PLEASE, don't do the math). She was recruited by Dr. Bernie Levene and Dr. Susan Clubb to move to Florida, and work at Pet Farm (a facility where she helped maintain and treat thousands of birds every day). In 1989, she went into private practice, seeing avian patients exclusively. She has become one of the most respected and widely-known avian veterinarians in the South Florida area. Dr. Z has two children (both of whom grew up in an animal hospital), several birds, and a wonderful husband who is an accomplished architect. Her hobbies include collecting craft supplies (she never has time to actually DO crafts), and chauffeuring her children around.
